Hi, Your tutorial is nice, easy to follow...but if you are looking for a quick fix for your friend, using the pen tool for a detailed sketch is longer....not shorter! The live trace panel offers much more options than you presented in the video. Also trace image works well if you have clean lines. I always clean my lines up in photoshop. It takes only a minuet or two. If your purpose is to teach how to use the pen tool, great, just be more specific about what your tutorial is about. I was slightly peeved when I realised that I wasn't going to learn something new.

Hi Laura! Thanks for your feedback! I guess I thought since it says (when auto trace fails) in the title that I wasn't misleading. Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate any and all tips to make things easier for everyone. Perhaps I could use the same drawing, create a 2nd option showing how to fix the lines in Photoshop and then go thru the auto trace options showing which one works the best.
